Overview:<\/h2>\n

Over the course of the term, you will work within a team to apply course materials to particular problems. The purpose of this assignment is to provide you with opportunities to share learning with your peers, actively apply course content to real problems, and construct an active set of practitioner skills including working in teams. The applications will be drawn from the following set:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Revise a slide deck of regional climate projections for a specific application;<\/li>\n
  2. Create a lightning presentation<\/li>\n
  3. Critically evaluate your team.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Instructions:<\/h2>\n
      \n
    1. Review a slide deck:<\/strong> A draft slide deck about future climate projections will be provided to your team in Google Slides. Identify errors, misleading or confusing language, and jargon. Add comments on Google Slides to capture your critical thinking and working as a team. Suggest revisions to the slides to ensure clear interpretation. Due at the end of Week 5. Then, you will be provided with an answer key, and the following week will use that key to evaluate how your team did, and discuss anything you missed. 10%
      \n<\/strong>Submit<\/em>:\u00a0<\/strong>to GoogleSlides, and Assignment 3: Practical Applications Forum\u00a0<\/a><\/li>\n
    2. Lightning Presentation:<\/strong> Your team will prepare a pre-recorded seven-minute lightning talk on a topic of choice related to the science of climate change. This can be done as a voiceover presentation or video using PowerPoint or similar presentation tool. The presentation will consist of 8 to 10 slides that succinctly explore a topic related to climate science and provide an introductory explanation aimed at a general audience. The purpose of this activity is to distill, explain, and organize climate information and data. You will communicate your topic in a concise, clearly constructed presentation supported by appropriate visuals (e.g., graphs, images). Sources will be cited on each slide, and a reference list will be included as the last slide (which you do not need to speak to). You will share your presentation with the class within a forum created specifically for the assignment. 10%<\/strong>
