This year-long course continues with Unit 6 (post CALS 504 – Business of Climate Adaptation) focused on continuing the conversations on Western and Traditional Indigenous Knowledges, theories, and perspectives on climate action leadership, climate adaptation, resilience, and design thinking through guest speakers and discussion activities.<\/p>\n
Drawing on the Unit 6 readings, and the learning\u00a0 to-date from previous courses, you will continue to develop and deepen your understanding of the competencies and characteristics of climate action leadership. You will also contribute to your blog as a means to analyzing and synthesizing these perspectives and deepening your capacity for trans-disciplinary thinking.<\/p>\n
Please see Schedule for important dates for this Unit.<\/strong><\/p>\n This unit provides an opportunity to consider how to draw on your learning from the learning to date (CALS 500, 501, 502, 503, 504)\u00a0 to inform your evolving thinking about climate action leadership. As the final unit of CALS 501, this unit provides an opportunity for a meta-synthesis of your learning to consider the core characteristics, mindsets, and competencies of climate action leadership, as you understand it, and the opportunities and challenges of such leadership.<\/p>\n Please attend the Unit 3 Seminar, Tuesday\u00a0 June 7th, 16:00-18:30 PT<\/strong>.<\/span> This seminar will be an opportunity to reconnect with each other and critically reflect on the learning from CALS 504 and the ways in which this course informs your emerging trans disciplinary thinking about climate action.<\/p>\n This is a reminder that really is in place for the entire program – to take time to review and comment on other blogs posts from your MACAL student peers prior to considering how to craft your next one.<\/p>\n See the Assignment 6<\/a> description.<\/p>\n Think of your blog posts as critical academic reflection where you are analyzing and synthesizing as you make connections between theory and practice.
