In this assignment, you will create two reflective blogposts for your WordPress site, each of which will entail a critical assessment of some aspect of business case planning for climate adaptation or mitigation.\u00a0 The assignment is an opportunity to critically evaluate the role and practices of organizations (private business, government agencies and\/or non-profit organizations) and the strengths and limitations of formal business case writing for promoting climate action.<\/p>\n

Instructions:<\/h2>\n

The assignment is made up of two blogposts:<\/p>\n

  1. Economic self-interest and climate action.\u00a0 Due:\u00a0 End of Week 2.\u00a0 In many cases, the business case for adaptation is based on an organization’s or agent\u2019s self-interest.\u00a0 Based on your readings and exploration in Unit 1, articulate and defend your personal position on the role of self-interest as an incentive for undertaking climate action.\u00a0 Consider assessing the self-interest perspective from alternative (e.g., Indigenous) worldviews and perspectives.<\/li>\n
  2. Incremental versus transformative adaptation.\u00a0 Due:\u00a0 End of Week 10.\u00a0 Based on the readings and discussion in Unit 10, articulate and defend your personal position on the relative merits of incremental versus transformative adaptation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
