The learning outcomes of the workshop at the grade 4 & 5 levels are to have children:<\/p>\n
1. Understand the meaning behind the United Nations Convention on the Rights of
\nthe Child (UNCRC) and World Children\u2019s Day, focusing on the right to be healthy,
\nsafe, heard and be myself. They will explore how children\u2019s rights are respected
\nin Canada and around the world.
\n2. Discuss \u2018needs\u2019 and \u2018wants\u2019 and how they relate to \u2018rights\u2019.
\n3. Explore what the words \u2018rights\u2019 and \u2018responsibility\u2019 mean, how they are related to
\nchild rights and identify the people who are responsible for child rights.
\n4. Advocate for children\u2019s rights and activate children\u2019s expression through their
\nideas\/drawings\/messages about what rights are important to them – and to
\nshare them with important people responsible for their rights<\/p>\n
