header_2_line_height=&#8221;1.5em&#8221; background_color=&#8221;#ffffff&#8221; custom_padding=&#8221;20px|40px|20px|40px|false|true&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]\n<p>Aman Nasser is a Staff Sergeant with the Surrey Police Service and has over 18 years of policing experience.\u00a0 Aman\u2019s current role is a Watch Commander, where he is responsible for support and development of approximately 45 \u2013 50 frontline police officers.\u00a0 On his own time, Aman assists with the training of recruit officers at the Justice Institute of British Columbia as a subject matter expert (SME).<\/p>\n<p>Aman, previously worked for Toronto Police Service, where he proudly served as a member of the Homicide Squad, Hold Up Squad, Gun &amp; Gang Task Force.\u00a0 During his tenure in Toronto, he was qualified by the courts (SCC) as Gang Expert (2012) and has provided expert evidence in numerous gang related trials and delivered lectures at conferences over the last decade.<\/p>\n<p>Originally from Fairford, Manitoba, Aman is a proud member of the Pinaymootang First Nation.<\/p>\n<p>Aman\u2019s doctoral research aims to identify and address gaps in the training standards for police leaders in Canada.\u00a0 His focus will be to explore and identify how police organizations can optimize culture, efficiency, and service delivery through the implementation of various management training models for potential leaders in their respective organizations.<\/p>\n<p>Aman\u2019s aim is to help inform public safety organizations on what type of leadership training (if any) is perceived as the most effective amongst officers to improve their culture and work environment and to further the body of knowledge in this research area.<\/p>\n[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text disabled_on=&#8221;on|on|on&#8221;
