She also engages in consulting work, as a mediator, in the field of organizational conflict management. Beth believes that workplace mediation and conflict resolution is about listening, understanding, responding and advocating in a way that leaves people respecting the players, the process and the outcome, even if they don&#8217;t agree.<\/p>\n<p>In the past, Beth has served on the CPRH-NL Board of Directors and spent many years as a member of the CPHR-NL professional development committee in addition to other community volunteer work.<\/p>\n<p>Beth\u2019s career path led her through progressive roles in Human Resources in both the public and private sector for nearly 15 years before transitioning into academia on a full-time basis. Beth has been privileged to have worked with a variety of industries including mining, hospitality, medical, engineering, financial, construction, and small-business start-ups. She is a member of the ADR Atlantic Institute, the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Canada (ADRIC), and the Chartered Professional in Human Resources New Brunswick (CPHR-NB).<\/p>\n<p>Beth\u2019s doctoral research will examine the impact of individual conflict-carrying capacity on interpersonal workplace conflict in municipal government environments in Canada. The goal is to discover how individuals\u2019 capacity to handle conflict impacts the frequency and degree to which the person will engage in negative interpersonal conflict with other members or the organization, or the public. The research will contribute to closing research gap related to the contribution of the external environment to workplace conflict.<\/p>\n<p>Beth holds a Bachelor of Commerce (2004) and a Master of Employment Relations (2009) from Memorial University.<\/p>\n[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text disabled_on=&#8221;on|on|on&#8221;
