I am currently the Director of Indigenous Policing Programs with the Policing and Security Branch, Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General of British Columbia. In my role, I oversee the implementation and administration of the First Nations and Inuit Policing Program in British Columbia, which provides both enhanced and self-administered policing services to signatory Indigenous communities in the province.<\/p>\n
Before joining the Provincial Public Service, I worked for both Treaty and Indian Act Nations in British Columbia, holding senior administrative and public safety leadership roles within these respective governments. Coming from a broad law enforcement background and public safety experience, I also had the opportunity to consult with Indigenous governments in British Columbia and the Yukon, helping establish community safety programs, policies, and legislation for Land Code and Self-Governing Nations.<\/p>\n
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Justice Studies (RRU, 2015), a Graduate Certificate in Transforming Child Protection to Wellbeing (RRU, 2022), and a Master of Arts in Justice Studies (RRU, 2022). My doctoral research will focus on the current state of law enforcement and public safety within Indigenous communities and how this specific branch of governance powers is actualized within a Modern Treaty context.<\/p>\n
