My name is Jacqueline Lloyd Smith, and I am dedicated to leading with the power of play.<\/p>\n
I founded Strategic Play Global (SPG), an award-winning global management consulting company specializing in the application of creative and playful tools to solve complicated world problems. SPG delivers services in eight official languages. I have worked on multiple global projects, including projects at NASA \/ JPL, Space Force \/ USAF, the United Nations, Royal Bank, HSBC, UBS, Ernst & Young, and T. Rowe Price. For over 10 years, I have worked worldwide with scientists and engineers at Procter & Gamble; SPG has been named Best in Class by P&G for our work on the development of the Swiffer Products. Locally, I have worked with the City of Surrey on projects including community engagement, safety, poverty, and land use. I have also worked with Public Works Government Services Canada on various projects, as well as with the resort town of Whistler on transportation, housing, and the economy.<\/p>\n
For years, I worked as a licensed partner with the LEGO\u00ae Systems Group in Denmark; I trained with LEGO on location, and then became a Master Trainer for the company in the method LEGO\u00ae SERIOUS PLAY\u00ae. In 2007, I received the partner business growth award from the LEGO\u00ae Group, Play for Business Division. Before opening SPG, I worked as a Director at Bayfield, a therapeutic children’s treatment center; I also worked as a Psychometrist for the Ministry of Solicitor General and Correctional Services.
I am a Registered Art Therapist (ATR) and I am also certified in play therapy. In 2000, I earned an MA in Conflict Analysis and Management; and in 2006, I completed an MBA in Executive Management (Management Consulting), both from Royal Roads University. In 2005, I studied business strategy and global business at the Grenoble Ecole De Management, Grenoble, France. In November 2006, I received the Ted Wilson Memorial Award for Lifelong Learning from Royal Roads. I have been an associate faculty member in Vienna at the Austrian Marketing University (MA in Green Marketing); at RRU in the MBA program (Strategy); at Lakehead University (Marketing and Sales) in the business school; and at Western University, where I taught in the Post Graduate Art Therapy Certification program for over 10 years.<\/p>\n
I hold NAFTA Secret Clearance\u2014now the new United States, Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA).<\/p>\n
During my doctoral studies, I plan to examine how learners in management education may better understand themselves and others by reconnecting to their unique play styles and innate play drivers.
