Paula Kent retired from her long-term career in retail banking, where she honed her people management, coaching and leadership skills. In 2017 Kent left banking, returning to school to pursue graduate studies in a new sector; Tourism and Hospitality. \u00a0Her experience within graduate studies was a transformative experience igniting a passion for research and writing. She has recently published her first book: Heroic Choices<\/em>, in which she explores the wisdom contained within our myths and legends, bringing clarity to the cycle of personal transformation.\u00a0 The writing and research identified women’s ongoing struggles as they age. Her work ignited a passion for better understanding our human ageing experience.<\/p>\n

Paula\u2019s research interest lies in studying the experience of the ageing female in the twenty-first century. Kent\u2019s interdisciplinary research will explore how society views the natural process of ageing, the pressure of anti-ageing and assumptions of age-related stereotypes. The research will examine societal constructs\u2019 of ageing, which stigmatize the physical appearance of individuals who identify as female beyond the middle years of their life cycle.<\/p>\n
