Growing up I spent lots of time in the river valley- and regularly walk my dog across the river from Fort Edmonton park. I now recognize that this area was home to many people before me, the Nehiyaw, Denesuline, Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe, Nititsitapi and Métis Nations.

Ali completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies at the University of Alberta in 2017. After spending many years working in the hospitality industry and travelling around the world, I gained insights into communicating with people and building relationships. This continued in my role as a Climate Engagement Coordinator and Policy Analyst at the Métis Nation of Alberta, where I have now worked for 1.5 years, while completing the Master of Art’s in Climate Action Leadership program at Royal Roads.

[6

post-1660","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-2021-student-biographies
["GET
