His early research focused on rural climate adaptation and social entrepreneurship, later expanding to food systems, energy transitions in social housing, and energy poverty policy analysis. In all his work, Issac uses a systems lens to explore the complexity and interconnectedness of various factors, analyze system dynamics, and identify leverage points for improvement. He specializes in participatory modeling, community engagement, and capturing stakeholder perspectives across diverse research topics.
