The global fight against climate change needs everyone. The recent report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change issued a \u201ccode red for humanity.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0It is not too late to meet the Paris Agreement 1.5-degree target, but we are rapidly running out of time. The race to zero emissions, and the race to build resilience is imperative for us all.<\/p>\n
On Friday, September 24, there will be another global climate strike.<\/p>\n
I have asked our academic teams to join me in supporting these events by allowing students who wish to participate in the opportunity to do so.<\/p>\n
We are also supporting staff members who wish to attend the events.\u00a0We know our Royal Roads University faculty and staff have a tremendous appetite for an active response to the climate emergency. I\u2019m proud of our community\u2019s commitment to addressing difficult challenges.<\/p>\n
