Unit 5: Attend & Participate: MACAL Annual Climate Action Leadership Summit

Overview

The MACAL Climate Action Leadership Summit for 2023 will be hybrid. It will include a Student Poster Session (December 5th -check schedule for time) and a 2-day Societal Impact Accelerator (December 6 and 7 – check schedule for time) facilitated by Solvable, and a short speakers series. The summit provides an opportunity to see outside of the dominant paradigm in which we live and work to explore opportunities for accelerating transformative change. By combining exercises designed to open participants up to different ways of seeing and knowing through an enriched 3-Horizons framework, we can access alternative futures for our organizations, institutions, communities and society with accompanying transition pathways to make alternatives viable.

You and your peers, along with other from the RRU community and beyond will share and discuss aspects of climate action leadership, and possibilities for a more just, equitable, sustainable and enriching future. As students in the MACAL program you will be actively participating in the conference both by sharing your e-poster and by attending this accelerator and the speaker sessions. Your conference poster will share key learnings from your ongoing development as climate action leaders. Posters will reflect and communicate what you feel is important and valuable in your learning that can be applied to real-world climate issues.
