To complete the work on the Nixon Sectionalizer, we will be replacing high voltage cables in the Nixon corridor, which is the area between the Grant and LIC buildings, next week, January 18th – 22nd. To facilitate the work, the power will be temporarily shut off in the LIC and Grant buildings, at the following times:

LIC POWER SHUT OFF – short term outage

Wednesday, January 20th, 6:30 am – 10:30 am

Thursday, January 21st, 2:15 pm – 4:00 pm

 

GRANT POWER SHUT OFF – full 2-day outage

Wednesday, January 20th, 7:00 am – Thursday, January 21st, 6:00 pm.

 

During this time, you can expect:

  • Electricity in LIC and GRANT buildings to be turned off
  • Habitat Café will be CLOSED.
  • Service Road between Grant and LIC will be CLOSED to all vehicles, except emergency vehicles.
  • Parking lot behind Nixon will be CLOSED.
  • Back-up Generator will provide power to Emergency lights, Data Centre, and Guest Services.

There will be no disruption to service on Moodle or RRU webmail for external faculty, staff, and students.
