CPABC Monthly Newsletter – July 2022

CPABC hosted a fantastic CPABC Network Series session called ‘Why I chose CPA for my accounting career’ with two panelists. If you’re interested in watching and learning how resilience and networking are key in the journey to becoming a CPA, especially as an international student and/or professional in Canada, tune in here. Career Week takes place in a hybrid format on Hopin and at the Vancouver Convention Centre East from September 6-8th! Accelerate Your Career by learning about the diverse and interesting career options available to experienced and aspiring CPAs Register to participate in virtual career workshops, employer info sessions, speed interviews, and network with recruiters in person.

Every Tuesday 11:30am PT (12:30pm MT) CPAWSB Drop-In Q&A Sessions Advisors from the CPA Western School of Business (CPAWSB) will be present to answer all your questions about the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP), courses, and admission processes to enroll in CPA PEP or CPA preparatory courses.
July 7 12:00pm – 1:00pm Practical Experience Requirements (PER) Q & A Session Are you planning to pursue the CPA designation and wondering about Practical Experience Requirements (PER) of the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP)?
July 12 12:00pm – 1:00pm Post-Secondary CPABC Information Session Are you a post-secondary student interested in becoming a CPA after you graduate? This session will cover the CPA program in detail and include an open Q&A with CPABC’s Senior Student Recruitment Officer. This session will be tailored to post-secondary students interested in becoming a CPA, and is open to students from any university or college program.
July 20 5:00pm – 6:00pm CPA’s Journey – Opportunities for Career Changers Interested to learn what CPA opportunities are available for career changers? Our panel speakers will share why they decided to change careers and pursue the CPA designation, challenges they encountered along the way and insights on how to overcome it. You will then have an opportunity to ask your own questions about changing your career to become a CPA.
July 27 12:00pm – 12:45pm Conversation with a CPA Are you curious about what CPAs actually do? Join the conversation with Zahra Baghdadi, CPA, CGA, Financial Controller at RTB LLP and founder of Crunch TimeZ Virtual CFO Services. You will have an opportunity to ask your own questions about a career in accounting.
