Mini wall-hanging workshop with Elder Maxine Matilpi
You are invited to come to the Library’s Showcase space to create your own mini wall-hanging in the button blanket style under the guidance of Elder Maxine Matilpi!
Maxine Matilpi, with design support from her husband John Livingston, created the Library’s Hummingbird Button Blanket as an artist in residence in 2017. With the support of Library staff, Maxine will be facilitating this workshop for the RRU community to learn more about button blankets and regalia in the Kwakwaka’wakw cultural tradition. A display of Maxine’s work will also be in Showcase to inspire participants.
