Did you know that RRU was the first post-secondary institution to be in the Victoria Pride Parade? We are so excited that the parade is back on this year and we hope you can join us to walk the parade route and show your RRU Pride! The parade takes place on June 26th starting at 11:00 a.m.

Meet us at the beginning of the route or look for the Royal Roads pride banner along the way and walk or roll with us! There will be music, laughs, fun times, and candy! After the parade you can enjoy the Pride Festival and celebrate this incredible day with friends new and old.

For Sunday, if you can meet us by 10 a.m. in the marshaling area in Victoria West that would be wonderful! For now, all we know is that we are meeting along Kimta and Songhees Roads and on Tyee Road between Songhees and Esquimalt Roads. We have started a WhatsApp group to communicate with everyone on the day. We will update there with our specific marshaling location on Sunday once we have checked in. You can join the group here, https://chat.whatsapp.com/IlWrRXJ9O5K6DZWVBCftdg

Feel free to share this link with anyone else interested in attending the parade with us. If you run late, you can meet us anywhere along the parade route. Just look for our banner and start walking with us.

Important notes:

  • Candy must be handed to parade crowds (many will have bags), we can’t throw it so there is less waste and trash
  • Please wear comfortable shoes
  • Bring sunscreen
  • Bring water

Once the parade is over, you can feel free to enjoy the Pride Festival in the afternoon. Our group will end once the parade route is over.

About the Victoria Pride Parade:

Let your Pride flags fly over the Johnston Street Bridge during the biggest and most anticipated parade of the year. A new route this year provides lots of scenic water views with as many as 140 entries and 40,000+ spectators. Learn more about Victoria Pride here.
