Grace Ndirangu

I am a trained teacher/Counselor. I have worked as a Youth/ Gender Officer for sixteen years in the Kenyan Government. My work involves gender mainstreaming activities aimed to improve the quality of public policies, programmes and projects, ensuring a more efficient allocation of resources for creation of a more socially just and sustainable society for women and men, boys and girls.

I have a lot of interest in Education matters; especially for the hard to reach areas. This advocacy ensures that no one is left behind. Been a Board member of a Girls High School in Kenya.  I also have interest in Savings and Cooperatives Societies(SACCO) for it promotes empowerment of communities when they bring resources together. I was a Board member of one from 2018 to 2021.

I hold a Bachelor Degree in Education; Egerton University, 2002. I also hold a Master of Education degree in Guidance and Counseling (2007) from Egerton University. My research thesis on “An investigation of the relationship between test anxiety and academic performance in secondary schools in Nyeri District, Kenya” was published in the “Global Journal of Educational Research Vol 7, No.1&2, 2008: 1-7 Copyright© Bachudo Science Co. Ltd Printed in Nigeria. ISSN 1596-6224.”

My Doctorate will build upon my Gender experience and will investigate ‘Social connection challenges faced by Immigrant Women in their new host countries.’ This research is envisaged to inform the Social welfare policy frameworks of host countries.
