Beth Konomoto
Beth Konomoto is co-chair of English Language Development at Camosun College where she works with students and faculty. Konomoto believes in using language and technology to level the playing field for all learners. She has worked at language teaching institutions in Victoria, BC since 2012 and Yamaguchi, Japan for 7 years before returning to her hometown of Victoria. Her research interests include language education, education technology, and curriculum design. Konomoto’s current research will investigate motivation and curriculum change during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research aims to find the opportunities in education that the pandemic has brought forth for students and faculty at post-secondary institutions. Konomoto holds a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Simon Fraser University (2004) and a master’s degree in Teaching English as a Foreign/Second Language from the University of Birmingham (2012).
