Max Weselowski

I am the Executive Director at InnerVisions Recovery Society & Hannah House Treatment for Women, a non-profit in-patient addictions treatment program. I specialize in abstinence-based recovery and social models of treatment. My organization operates over 100 treatment beds, and over 30 transitional housing beds. I’ve worked in the addictions industry for over 15 years, with many different roles from volunteer to counsellor to case manager to executive director. I emphasize team-building and organizational leadership as cultural components. I am also an instructor for a frontline addictions worker certificate program. My doctorate focuses on additions stigma. This includes defining addictions stigma within various communities and understanding the impact stigma has on drug users, their communities, and subsequent addiction recovery. I hope to find ways to improve recovery outcomes by better understanding addiction stigma. I hold a BBA (2015) and an MBA (2021) from Simon Fraser University.
