Tori McMillan
I am a member of Berens River First Nation, located in Treaty 5 territory on the eastern shore of Lake Winnipeg. My father is Phil Green, and my paternal grandparents are Walter and Lucy Green. My mother is Esther Dankewich, and my maternal grandparents are Mancel and Olive McMillan.
I live in Treaty 7 territory and work at Mount Royal University. I have served as an elementary and high school teacher, as well as a program administrator. Currently, I lead the Iniskim Centre, which provides space and support for the Indigenous learning community at MRU.
I hold a Bachelor of Education from the University of Calgary (2000), as well as a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration and Leadership from Royal Roads University (2021). I am also grateful to have received the Royal Roads Founders Award (2021). This is meaningful because my classmates selected me.
My research interests center around Reconciliation, Systems Thinking, and using a Two-Eyed Seeing approach to understand multiple worldviews.
In 2023, my article Anishinaabe Values and Servant Leadership: A Two-Eyed Seeing Approach was published in the Journal of Values-Based Leadership.
I live in Calgary with my wife Linda and our 7 children.
