In-Person Residency

Provides relevant theory as well as significant opportunity to apply theory to practice in the development of exemplary coaching skills in a variety of professional contexts. Blending an online introduction to the graduate certificate in executive coaching with a six-day intensive residency period and a final three-day capstone that brings closure to the certificate program will provide the framework for a coach approach combining both practical tools and application of key coaching principles. 

Examines the complex challenges associated with effective leadership in organizations and explores both individual and collaborative approaches drawn from learners’ experience and the most recent literature and research in order to inform leadership and successful organizational change. Learners will explore dimensions of personal and strategic leadership, the dynamics of personal and organizational change, and their roles as catalysts for change.

Combines the tools and techniques needed to manage risk, time and costs effectively, with the essential humanistic components of project leadership. Students can expect to gain critical stakeholder engagement techniques, including negotiation, conflict resolution, change leadership and collaboration in conjunction with a practical focus and application on the constraints faced on any project: time limits, human resources, materials, budget and specifications.
