Maxime-Alexandre Barker is a student at Royal Roads university who is pursuing a Master of Science degree in Environment and Management. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography and a certificate in Permaculture Design, both of which he obtained at Bishop’s University. He has demonstrated academic ability where the Canadian Association of Geographers granted him the 2020 Undergraduate Award. Although his research interests span the spectrum of science and beyond, his present focus is on toxicological risk assessment, which in accordance to the topic of his thesis, it concerns assessing the risks to environmental and human health associated with metal contaminants.
Aside from academics, Max’s objective in life is to contribute to human evolution through the advancement of a philosophy that he calls Ecohumanism, an endeavor that he works toward via a website that he founded in 2022 – Ecohumanism Research. Specifically, it is about helping humans to discover the meaning of their existence including their potential by changing the way in which they perceive and value their relationship with nature.
