The Active Transportation Network Plan will describe how we can make it easier for cyclists, pedestrians, and people with disabilities to travel in and through Colwood, improve road safety and work to meet our climate targets.

The Active Transportation Network Plan will be an extension of guidance already contained in the 2015 Transportation Master Plan(External link) and builds on more recent direction established in the 2018 Official Community Plan(External link).

The City intends to update the current Colwood Transportation Master Plan and will incorporate the guiding principles, network plans, infrastructure design guidelines and implementation strategy from this project.

What does this work address?

This plan will map out active transportation networks and project priorities for Colwood. This includes setting goals, establishing design standards for new and updated infrastructure, and identifying key priority projects that will better connect neighbourhoods and increase active transportation safety and comfort in Colwood.
