RRU’s Diversity Action Group and Counselling & Learning Strategy Team invite all staff, faculty and students to wear purple on Tuesday October 11th in acknowledgment of World Mental Health Day and Light Up Purple

This year’s theme, “Make mental health & well-being for all a global priority”, focuses a global campaign on improving access to mental health services in an increasingly uncertain and polarized world. Global challenges such as the Covid-19 pandemic, war, displacement, the climate crisis, and a range of economic challenges, have exacerbated mental health issues, and often limited access to resources and support.

To promote wellbeing, RRU’s Counselling & Learning Strategy Team is offering a Building Resilience & Managing Stress workshop on Wednesday Oct 5th, 11am-12pm, open to all RRU students.

The recent addition of two new practicum Counsellors, Carrie Everett & Isaac Dellabough, has increased the team’s capacity to support students, reduced wait times, and is enriching the counselling team’s skills. Meet the team to learn more about our counsellors and how they can support your wellbeing and learning success.

October 11th also marks the 33rd National Coming Out Day, marking another important occasion to promote wellbeing, acceptance and safety in our community. To learn more, please visit the National Coming Out Day Crossroads post.

A reminder that Counselling Services are available for all RRU students and staff.
