Assignment 2: Public Writing (Individual)

Overview:

Developing a public voice and providing feedback are critical to becoming a climate adaptation practitioner. For this assignment, you will be expected to post written public commentary on the course WordPress site. Your writing may be built from the work you have done in the critical reflections. The purpose of your public writing is to demonstrate an ability to clearly and succinctly explain climate information and comment on relevant issues from an informed perspective. Your final post may be written or video.

This assignment consists of three parts, and evaluation will be on all 3 parts:

1. First, you will submit a draft blog post (saved as a PDF), 5%
2. Then, you will provide an anonymous critical peer review of two other student’s blog posts (assigned at random by the instructors), 5%
3. Finally, you will revise your initial blog post based on the peer review and instructors’ commentary, to the course WordPress site, 10%

Requirements:

Blogs should be around 700-900 words, with citations. A video blog should be approximately three minutes, and include references at the end. The language should be appropriate for your intended audience, whether that is academic, practitioner, or various publics.
