Week 4
Overview
This unit will introduce you to climate scenarios, which are used to deal with the wide range of possible future climate conditions. You will explore how uncertainty in these scenarios arises in part from the different greenhouse gas emissions policy pathways that humanity may take. You will examine the evolution of global scenarios developed by the IPCC, and how they are used to understand possible climate futures for communities, societies, and the biosphere. You will learn about the role of these scenarios in climate adaptation, and the challenges relating to the different ways scenarios may be interpreted for different purposes.
You will be expected to post in the discussion forum for this unit, and publish your first WordPress blog.
