Cynthia Wenn
I am Vice President of Operations, at Vanguard Emergency Management Consulting Inc. For the last thirteen years, I have provided professional services and advice to organizations on risk, emergency, and business continuity management, reimagined, designed, and delivered professional industry-specific course material, and assisted clients with all steps of exercise delivery, including leading and supporting exercise design teams, exercise design, logistics, facilitation, and evaluation.
From 2013-2014, I was the lead researcher and project manager for Northwest Territories Hazard Identification Risk Assessment. In 2021, as Senior Emergency Exercise design consultant for PHAC, I supported the virtual design and delivery of Synergy Challenge 2021 a full-scale integrated emergency response exercise that was part of the federal government’s National Priority exercise program.
My doctorate will build upon my risk, business continuity, and emergency management experience and will focus on the question of how organizational resilience can be maximized in a large governmental structure through exercise design and delivery. I hold a double honors BA in English and Philosophy from York University (1996) and a Masters’ in Philosophy from York University (1999). I have obtained the Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) and the Certified Business Continuity Auditor (CBCA), from Disaster Recovery Institute Canada.
