Along with the companion course, EXMN 668, this course focuses on the needs of the consulting client with students developing expertise in the following ‘best practice’ areas: Effective Communication and Team work – with a focus on developing and maintaining a successful client relationship. Project Management – learners are provided with a fundamental knowledge of project management methodologies, tools and disciplines in the context of a management consulting assignment. Change Management, including tools and techniques related to assessing change readiness, understanding absorptive capacity and managing change. This course meets external education requirements of the CMC Canada providing a fast track to qualify for the prestigious CMC global designation.

Students also learn how to deliver superior value to their internal or external management consulting clients through the completion of a team based Consulting Practice Review Summary where a boutique, specialized consulting practice model is developed and validated. This course meets external education requirements of the CMC Canada providing a fast track to qualify for the prestigious CMC global designation.
Discusses the overarching importance of change, the realities of making and implementing change decisions, and the potential consequences on organizations, staff, a wide spectrum of internal and external stakeholders, and the ultimate effect on the bottom line. Learners will examine various approaches to change management and appreciate the complexities and challenges of managing change in a global context. Emphasis will be placed on intercultural sensitivity, cross-cultural competencies, and a global mindset.
