Each of Units 4 – 7 include analysis exercises in which you and your team will demonstrate your proficiency with each procedure covered in the course. The analysis exercises will enable you to develop your analysis skills in preparation for the final assignment (business case). Each exercise is worth 5% of your final grade.

Unit 6 – Cost-Benefit Analysis
You will provide a cost-benefit analysis of one of the adaptation strategies identified in Part 2 and compare it to a business-as-usual baseline. Your cost-benefit analysis will incorporate risk estimates developed in Part 1. Your analysis must include a conclusion regarding which option provides the greatest net present value, given the assumptions of your model.
Requirements:
- Each exercise must be submitted as both:
- A clearly formatted Excel workbook that includes the calculations used to develop your conclusion; and
- A Word document (no more than 250 words) that provides a narrative description of the conclusions drawn from the analysis;
- All external sources must be acknowledged using the APA format for in-text citations and references;
- The assignment must be submitted on or before the due date.
Assessment Criteria:
In this assignment, you are expected to:
- Compare and contrast relevant merits of a range of adaptation strategies (Learning Outcome 1.2);
- Apply strategies to inform and evaluate solutions, recommendations, and/or action plans (Learning Outcome 1.2);
- Apply a systems-thinking perspective (Learning Outcome 2.4);
- Creates and adapts materials in creative ways to accommodate various needs, competencies, expectations, and cultural values (Learning Outcome 5.2).
