Gabriela Yepez

I am a healthcare leader with experience across post-secondary, hospital, and community mental health settings. I’m passionate about strengthening mental health programs through innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and evidence-informed practice across both academic and clinical settings.

My research interests center on the integration of Latin/x patient and family voices in mental health education; I want to explore the structural, cultural, and institutional factors that shape the barriers and opportunities for their meaningful participation.

I’m currently working in a post-secondary institution in Toronto, Ontario, as the Associate Director of Counselling & Mental Health, where I provide clinical and operational leadership to interdisciplinary teams of social workers, psychotherapists, and registered mental health nurses.
I hold a Master of Health Professions Education from the University of Ottawa, a Bachelor of Applied Science in Family and Social Services from the University of Guelph, and a Social Service Worker Diploma from Humber Polytechnic.

I am a Registered Social Worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers (OCSWSSW) and hold the Certified Health Executive (CHE) designation from the Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL).
