Coltan Fagan
Coltan Fagan is a post-secondary educator with teaching experience across business, tourism, and hospitality management programs, including Royal Roads University, Portage College, and AGA Academy. He is currently an instructor at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), one of Canada’s leading institutions in hospitality management.
Fagan has contributed to a range of tourism and destination-development initiatives in Calgary, including the Roaming Visitor Services Team with Tourism Calgary and the Ambassador Program with the Calgary Downtown Association. As a board member of Calgary Pride, he focused on human resources strategy, including policy and procedure development, organizational governance, and day-to-day people management.
Fagan’s passion for exploration and applied research emerged through his contributions to the National Health and College Improvement Program (NCHIP), multiple tourism feasibility studies, and visitor-services initiatives. His research examines the intersection of business strategy, inclusive economic development, and the social dimensions of 2SLGBTQ+ communities, with particular attention to how inclusion and exclusion shape organizational and regional performance.
Fagan holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Sociology (2014) from Acadia University and a Master of Arts in Tourism Management (2017) from Royal Roads University. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration, with a research focus on inclusive economic growth and urban competitiveness within Calgary, Alberta.
