Kostas Lekkas

Kostas Lekkas is a senior director for a Canadian financial institution. Lekkas career spans over 20 years in multi-disciplinary strategic technology management supporting business architecture, software development, quality assurance, and operational support. Among Kostas’ achievements are his numerous contributions to automation in quality assurance and artificial intelligence usage in operational monitoring and response. His work provides the ability for multiple e-commerce platforms to serve individual and institutional clients worldwide, creating revenue that is nearing the one billion mark yearly. Kostas holds various industry certifications from the DevOps Institute and is a certified ITIL Expert, having received many team and individual achiever awards for innovation.
 
Lekkas’ doctoral research will investigate and profile the surveillance business model’s usage and proliferation throughout modern business applications. Explore the privacy challenges faced  by consumers, policymakers, and businesses using the surveillance business model itself as awareness is expanding within consumers and governments. The research will identify policy blind spots in how the business surveillance model is used and identify methodologies and frameworks required by policymakers to address consumer privacy concerns. Lastly, the research will examine how the surveillance business model needs to evolve and provide a more ethical approach to conducting business while achieving growth.
