Lameck Osinde
Lameck Osinde is a faculty member in the Information Systems Area Group at Ivey Business School, University of Western Ontario, where he teaches Digital transformation, Digital Essentials, Leveraging Information Technology, and Project Management. Lameck has been a Technology and Innovation Project Management practitioner with over three decades of progressive experience. He has taught Technology Innovation, Business Leadership, and Project Management at the College and University levels for over a decade.
Lameck’s research explores the impact of introducing agility framework elements into the creation of a project charter in Technology-Enabled projects. The results from the proposed investigation are intended to bring to light, more insights about the use of the Project Charter in vastly changing inter-disciplinarity Technology-Enabled Projects. Further, it will determine the extent to which incorporating agility would enhance the preparation, adaptation, and leveraging of the Project Charter to serve the project team’s needs. It will provide further insights into the intended purpose, creation, and use of Project Charters in serving their purpose as envisaged by the Project Management Waterfall Framework.
Lameck’s belief system has been shaped and influenced over the years by his previous roles in industry, where technology practitioners leveraged technology to transform business enterprises. His diverse international team dynamics, challenges, and learning opportunities played a significant role in shaping his approach to building a robust and trusted support network at the workplace. He is known for his initiative and support for collaborative teamwork and aligning it to the larger organizational objectives by creating a safe growth-enabling environment and career development. As a teacher, Lameck recognizes the critical importance of an engaging and highly interactive environment in the learning realm. This stimulates the essential cognitive, emotional, and social skills expected of the learners.
Lameck holds a Master’s Degree in Information Systems from the University of Nairobi (2007), and a post-graduate certificate in Adult Learning from the University of Western Ontario (2018). He is a certified Project Management Professional® (PMP) and certified DDI Facilitator. Lameck serves on the Advisory Board of Directors at London Small Business Centre as well as at the African Institute at the University of Western Ontario. He is the VP of Professional Development at Project Management Institute, South-Western Ontario Chapter, where he has been a member since 2014.
In his spare time, he volunteers with the local Project Management Chapter (Southwestern Ontario) and enjoys watching documentaries and sports. He stops by the local gym a couple of times a week and has adopted the nickname “Grill Master” in his local community.
