Asha Burry
Asha Burry has thirty years of experience in human resources, business, and operations. She is currently the Canadian Human Resource Leader for a global building material company, where she heads human resources for the manufacturing, sales, pension, and benefits departments.
Asha brings a breadth of experience as a current board member of the We Are Unsinkable charity and as a member of the company’s pension investment and administration committees. In addition, through her work on the Jill of All Trades steering committee, Asha pursues her passion for developing, coaching, and encouraging young women to explore career opportunities they otherwise would not have considered.
Asha’s doctoral research explores gender-related factors that impact severance compensation during employment terminations. The research will examine the magnitude of the gender severance gap and add to the current literature by investigating factors that influence the gap.
Asha holds a Master of Human Resources (2023), a Certified Human Resources Leader designation (2014), a Master of Economics (1997), and a Bachelor of Economics (1996).
