Chris Harper
Christopher Harper is a Senior Director of Digital Advisory Services with a multi-national technology consulting firm where he works with a team of management consultants to support clients in defining and executing their digital transformation journeys. Chris also teaches business analysis and digital transformation with the University of Calgary where he enjoys sharing his passion and knowledge of the intersection of technology and organizational performance with learners. Working with Certified Management Consultants – Canada, Chris teaches the Essentials of Management Consulting and Ethics in Management Consulting courses.
Chris is Certified Management Consultant (CMC), Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) where he actively seeks to give back to his professional communities. As an Elected Trustee to the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes and Co-Chair of the America’s Hub, Chris represents Canada with his fellow Trustees ensuring that Canada is connected to the global management consulting profession. Formerly, Chris was appointed through Order in Council to serve as a Public Member to the Health Professions Advisory Council for the Province of Alberta, a board he later chaired.
Chris’ doctoral research intention includes the investigation of the intersection of technology and strategy and how adaptations to existing strategic frameworks in the context of industry structures where the planned future is highly unpredictable, and irrational can be made. Chris will seek to determine if and how adaptive elements of strategy can be developed and how those elements can be operationalized, enabling incremental adaptation through strategy and business model integration.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Human Resources and Labour Relations (2011) and Master of Business Administration (2020) from Athabasca University where he was nominated for the Government General’s Gold Medal Award for highest to three GPA in his cohort. Chris also earned his Academic Staff Certificate in University Teaching & Learning from the University of Calgary (2020).
