Sarah Gowans

Sarah works as a Business Analyst responsible for supporting clients through their operational challenges. She provides client organizations insights on business practices and areas for improvement through process and data analytics. She has led teams through the identification of improvement opportunities to realize significant financial benefits, has designed solutions, and has assisted in driving initiatives to ensure continuity and sustainability of results. Sarah builds strong relationships with clients and client teams and has experience coaching leadership development and change management.

Sarah has spent the last 12 years working as a Management Consultant, in client facing roles supporting on-the-ground projects and operational analysis on client sites. For the last five years she held the position of Manager, Analysis at Proudfoot Consulting where she managed business review teams to identify and quantify opportunities that existed for her clients. She also designed business transformation roadmaps and supported clients through the change process.

Sarah has led project teams from diagnosis to implementation in many different cultural settings, working with senior managers to prepare business cases for change initiatives that were critical for the future of the organization. She has extensive international work experience across North America, Africa, Central Asia, and Australia in the Mining and Smelting, Oil and Gas, and Manufacturing industries.

Her research is focused on how Indigenous communities can foster long term sustainable development opportunities through partnerships with mining companies in Canada.

Sarah holds an MBA from Royal Roads University (RRU) and an Executive Diploma in Management Consulting from Grenoble Ecole de Management.
