Constance Bajomo
Matevhu Constance is a clinical program manager for Sakhiwo Health Infrastructure Solutions, a multidisciplinary consulting company in South Africa. She manages the Health Facilities Planning, Health Technology Planning, Commissioning, and Procurement divisions there.
Bajomo believes in planning and designing healthcare solutions that meet patients’ needs and enhance respite and resilience for the healthcare workforce/ caring for caregivers. She has been in the clinical industry for over 30 years. She has planned and implemented new and upgraded tertiary, regional, and district hospitals, clinics, and specialised units, such as mental health unit projects, for over 10 years in different provinces in South Africa. Constance has also been involved in the planning, implementing and handing over of four functional children-specialised CSI Projects under the Carte Blanche/M-Net MAD TRUST, Making a Difference Trust between 2019 and 2024.
Bajomo is a Registered Nurse who holds an Advanced Project Management Certificate (UNISA), an MBA degree (MANCOSA), a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Technology Management (UCT), a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health (University of Pretoria), and several Hospital design and Health Facilities Planning certificates.
Her research interests include:
- Understanding the value of incorporating health facility planning expertise in optimising healthcare project outcomes
- Analysing the overall user experience within healthcare spaces by identifying areas for improvement in healthcare facility design
- Evaluating the impact of the work environment on employee performance.
Bajomo’s current research will investigate the effect of health facility planning expertise on healthcare infrastructure project outcomes and provide a comprehensive analysis of strategies for optimising health infrastructure delivery. Her research aims to offer guidelines to policymakers for regulatory frameworks that promote expert involvement in health infrastructure planning, expand the theoretical discourse on healthcare systems optimisation and demonstrate the importance of investing in specialised health infrastructure planning expertise to healthcare leaders.
