Firas Zayter
Firas is a Consortium Coordinator for Oxfam in Lebanon, where he leads large-scale initiatives focused on economic development and systemic market change. With over 20 years of experience spanning international development, corporate banking, and entrepreneurship, Firas is a dedicated advocate for social justice and inclusive growth. He is recognized for leading the national Task Force that drafted the first legal framework for the Social Solidarity Economy in Lebanon, a landmark effort to institutionalize social enterprises and foster a more equitable economic landscape in the region.
Firas’s research is a critical investigation into the role of Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) “Social Business Models” as a pathway to the support and recovery of MSMEs in Lebanon. This study aims to evaluate how social business modules can serve as resilient alternatives for small and medium enterprises, providing a framework for recovery and sustainability within volatile economic contexts.
Firas holds a Master of Business Administration in Business Law from the Lebanese American University and a bachelor’s in public administration from the American University of Beirut.
