Robin Steward
Robin Steward is an officer in the Canadian military. He is currently serving as a liaison officer to Headquarters United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM) in Hawaii where he enables communication, coordination, and collaboration between Canadian and United States military forces in the Indo-Pacific region.
Robin has extensive international experience, especially in the Indo-Pacific region and was notably instrumental in revitalising multinational contributions to the United Nations Command in South Korea. He assisted with the establishment of a peacekeeping training centre in Mongolia and, while on a foreign assignment, represented the Australian Defence Force during several expert working groups on disaster relief in Southeast Asia.
Robin has attended the Comprehensive Crisis Management and Advanced Security Cooperation courses at the Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies and is a guest instructor at the USINDOPACOM Center for Excellence in Disaster Management. He was presented the Royal Roads University (RRU) Chancellor’s Award for academic excellence in 2023.
Robin’s doctoral research will explore the role of governance in creating resilient global value chains. This study will focus on the associated interplay of multinational enterprises and nation-states during global conditions of increased security concerns.
Robin holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta (1989), and both a Master of Business Administration (2014) and Master of Global Management (2023) from RRU.
