Foster believes in listening, learning and the co-creation that comes from long-term relationships and trust. She values diversity and the full range of human experience and works with the strengths that already exist in her client’s organizations.
She has worked in more than fifteen different countries and, most recently, has been supporting Inuit and First Nation organizations with the development of mental health, Indigenous leadership and governance initiatives. This work has enabled her to work with outstanding Indigenous leaders on locally identified capacity-building priorities.
Foster is a Certified Human Resources Leader with the Human Resources Practitioners Association of Ontario and an Associated Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation.
Her research interests include: strategic human resources leadership, employee engagement and artificial intelligence.
Foster will investigate ways in which HR leaders can capitalize on the growth of artificial intelligence (AI) applications for human resources tasks and how the role of HR practitioners must evolve accordingly to leverage human strengths. It is anticipated that the proposed investigation will include consideration of the varied applications of AI to HR functions. This analysis will uncover the strengths, challenges and system requirements for efficacy.
Foster holds a Master of Arts degree in Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University (2003).
