Chafika Eddine

Chafika Eddine is a C-suite executive, board advisor, and doctoral researcher with over 25 years of leadership experience in the international mining sector. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) at Royal Roads University, Canada, where her research focuses on social legitimacy in mining in contested environments and times of crisis, participatory governance, and ESG risk management, bridging academic scholarship with industry practice.

Chafika has held senior executive roles including Chief Sustainability Officer, Vice President of Corporate Development, and Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at publicly listed mining companies, in addition to advising leading organizations on governance, ESG risk management, permitting, stakeholder engagement, government relations, human resources, and M&A due diligence. Having lived and worked across Europe, South, Central, and North America, she has visited more than 100 project sites in over 20 countries.

She holds a Master’s in Community Development (University of Victoria, Canada), a Bachelor of Laws (UniFMU, Brazil), and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute (FCGI). She currently serves on the board of Solis Minerals and has previously held board positions with the Peru – Canada Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Mines of Panama.

Chafika is also co-founder of the Global Change for Children Foundation and has been recognized internationally, including as one of the 100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining (UK, 2022) and recipient of the Trailblazer Award (Canada, 2023). A Brazilian-born proud Canadian of Lebanese heritage, she draws on her diverse cultural background to advocate for tolerance, inclusion, and sustainable development.
