Charity Gerbrandt
Charity Joy is the CEO of Mirai, a Saudi Arabian based video games company (subsidiary of Scopely, a Savvy Games Group company) who is working with local business, government, and private sector organizations in Riyadh to foster the gaming ecosystem and develop local game development talent. Joy believes that when life hands you an adventure and asks you to share your knowledge with the next generation of talent, you say yes. She has worked as an entrainment and gaming leader since 2006, including ten years with the Walt Disney Company as creative lead of Club Penguin, and as an Executive Producer and Studio GM for Electronics Arts leading teams working on global titles including UFC, Need for Speed, and Battlefield.
Joy is a certified executive coach and began her post-secondary studies in theatre and performing arts. She is an amateur writer, musician, and poet with training that includes clown, circus, and comedy.
Her doctoral research will investigate the role of neurodivergent leaders in video games and creative industries. This research aims to understand the prevalence, challenges, and opportunities of neurodivergent talent in leadership positions within creative industries and whether typical leadership expectations are helping or hurting the potential of these individuals and their impact on the businesses, teams, and products they lead.
Charity holds master’s degree in business administration from RRU (2017) and a General Management Certificate from Cambridge Judge Business School (2025).
